Help Me Lose!
That’s right, I’m hoping you, my faithful readers, can help me lose…. weight. You see, I’ve agreed to participate in a group charity project called SEOs Fight Fat. The news wasn’t supposed to get out until tomorrow when the contest officially starts but since someone else already spilled the beans, I figure it’s ok for me to post on it as well.
The concept is pretty basic. A group of SEO’s (including myself, SEObook’s Aaron Wall, Jim Boykin, and of course DazzlinDonna and others) have gotten together and have been divided up into male and female divisions. Whoever loses the most weight (as a percentage) from each group will face off in the final contest to be voted on by readers. The winner will have all the sponsorship money donated to the charity of their choice. Google has already agreed to be one of the sponsors and we’re working on adding more as we speak.
So, here’s what I need from you. First and foremost, if you’d like to be a sponsor or donate to the cause, please visit this page and check out all the details. The money is never going to touch our hands, it will all go directly to the winning charity. I’m playing on behalf of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program which is as worthy as causes go.
The other thing I could use is some suggestions on good ways to lose weight. I’m not talking hundreds of pound here but I could definitely stand to drop 30 or so. It wasn’t that long ago that I could eat a Big Mac value meal with an extra Big Mac and not be any worse for the wear. However, over the past few years I’ve been less and less active while maintaining most of my unhealthy eating habits. You don’t have to be a doctor to figure out that’s not going to work well. So obviously the first order of business is to get some exercise. However, I’m a pretty competitive person and I’d really like to win this contest, so if any of you have any programs or ideas that will help me lose weight (in a healthy fashion) either leave a comment or drop me a line via the contact form.
Anyway, the first official weigh in is tomorrow morning (I guess I’d better go buy that scale huh?) and you’ll be able to track my progress through my blog over on SEOsFightFat.com. Wish me luck and don’t forget to give me some suggestions on programs or plans or whatever to help me lose!
