I agree somewhat about not caring bout pagerank too much. I’ve run several sites over the years, worked my ass out on PR and then they ditcted me. Doesn’t matter much though, the sites that had good PR are still making money and my newly created blog is still getting readers (not very many yet but hey, its new).

Right now I’m concentrating more on releasing interesting articles and social networking them. A ‘hit’ title would give me the traffic I need to keep my site up and running for quite some time

Actually this can be a great time for small bloggers and others to advertise on the big blogs cheaply. I’m really waiting to see how TLA reacts to this, offcourse, it’d be better for me (as an advertiser) if they don’t change their current system at all…

Yesterday after seeing the flood of whining posts about PR drop I published a post saying that people should be more concerned with tracking the results that matter rather than obsessing over a number. But you’ve taken that one step further to see how you can actually cash in on it – great stuff

People are placing too much emphasis on PageRank. I completely agree that attention needs to be focused elsewhere (Alexa,Technorati, etc.) as opposed to moping about a drop in PR. Google pulled this little stunt to remove any doubt that they won’t act on their word.

Sean, good luck with your experiment! I just jumped over to your blog and I think you might benefit from using the Daily Blog Score system that I used early on to help keep me motivated and on task.

As you can see I don’t have any PR here yet either and it most definitely would be nice, however, I’m not really expecting it. If the values that we’re seeing today remain for very long PR is going to be seen by the blogosphere as the joke that the SEO industry knows that it is. I could be wrong but for now I’m concentrating on my Rss count and Technorati ranking.

I’m just starting out in blogging at the moment and none of my blogs have achieved a PageRank yet. To me it is still important to get it even though there have been the rumours about it being ended. It would be no bad thing if Yahoos link count became the next thing. It certainly seems to be kinder to me!

(BTW. I just came across your blog today. I started my own experiment on Friday when I finished my full-time job to give blogging a go. Wish me luck! I hope things are going as well as you hoped too!)
