Totally feel the same way. It seemed like a complete waste of time, but is actually nice for those little thoughts during the day. Full-on blog posts take too much time, so it’s nice to not have to throw away the one-off comments.

I just wish people would think a little more creatively than just answering the question “What are you doing right now?” Folks on Facebook seem to be able to tackle that question a little less literally. That doesn’t seem to have happened yet on Twitter.

I’m still trying to figure out Twitter myself. All the recent talk finally got me to take a look after insisting for a long time I didn’t care what you were doing right now and wondering why you would care what I’m doing right now.

I can see the potential benefit even while still trying to figure it all out and have a feeling I’m going to be addicted pretty soon if I’m not already addicted.

Now hopefully I can figure out how to make interesting tweets.

You could well be right. I guess it also depends on what friends you have on each. I get more useful pownces than tweets these days.

The main difference is Twitter is where the conversations are. Pownce is pretty dead in comparison as far as I can tell? Pownce has better technology, no question, especially recently when the Macworld keynote took twitter down

A lot of people seem to think that Pownce is a better alternative to Twitter. Twitter does have lots of limitations whereas Pownce has flexibility. The only thing you cannot do with Pownce that you can with Twitter, as far as I know, is to pipe in an RSS feed…

Well I recently signed up for this as well, and will be following you. Not quite sure what its use is though other than a glorified status bar on an Instant messenger client?
