Well I can hardly believe it but Blogging Experiment has been live for 6 months! It’s been a busy and, for the most part, successful 6 months and I can only imagine what the next 6 have in store for me. But, today as a bit of a celebration, I want to highlight some of the most memorable moments in a sort of Blogging Experiment Half Time Show.

The Income:

It’s no surprise that the cornerstone of this blog has been the monthly blog income reports. Here’s a quick run down for those of you that might not have been here from the very beginning. The income totals are in the bold font but you’ll need to click on the specific month to see a more detailed break down.

July $2.93 - I didn’t start income reports until early September but I made my first dollar on July 23rd.

August $50.00 - Two Text Link Ads affiliate sign-ups gave me my first income

September $75.00 - Still only a few affiliate sign-ups/sales so I decided to offer private advertising.

October $595.00 - I had given myself a 3 month cushion to start making decent money on this blog and October didn’t disappoint.

November $556.50 - Down slightly from last month but considering the fact that Google pimp smacked my PageRank, I thought it was a decent month.

December $1011.00 - I met the goal I had set out for myself and broke into 4 figure income for the first time. I can’t stop and celebrate for too long though, January’s goal is $1500.

Social Success:

Social media sites such as Digg, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Reddit, and others can give new blogs the jump start they need. Blogging Experiment was lucky enough to have several articles become popular on different social media sites over the last few months. These posts have brought in thousands of visitors, generated several new subscribers, and attracted hundreds of links. Basically, these posts have been the jet fuel that propelled this site to where it is today.

The Future:

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the second half of this experiment, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve got some pretty exciting things in the works for the coming months. There will be new advertising options, new services, and hopefully a few guest appearances on some high profile blogs. This blog still has a long way to go but it’s nice to stop every once in a while and take a look back to appreciate how far you’ve come as well.
