Great tips on blog optimizing. We really need to monetize our blog and that’s our goal for 2010. BTW, out of the hundreds of blogs I’ve come across, yours is definitely up there as one of the best. Good for you. Congrats.

I must say you are dead-on about focusing on a more tighter niche. Focusing on a broader niche is only going to be harder, and should really just be attempted by someone who has more experience. And plus… if its more centralized on what you are blogging about the competition is likely going to be less for it too.

That is why I need here, I am looking for some easy and effective tips to icrease the value of my blog, After reading the post I learnt more from it . I think optimizing is important during the blog posting, not ocassional ,so keep continuity . Thanks for sharing us.

I agree with Kyle – you don’t want to spend a bunch of time on a site, then realise there’s no effective ways to monetize it.

Wow, your reminder is timely! I write about awakening and zen, and it’s both good and bad that it’s a narrow audience. It’s tempting to go outside the mission to attract other traffic, but it ends up diluting the content. Thanks!

I would say that you need to have something concrete in your head related to monetization before you create the website. Otherwise, it’s just a hobby. And while there is absolutely nothing wrong with a hobby site if that’s what you’re wanting, for those looking to make real money, they need a real plan ahead of time. Too many website owners get this backwards. They think they’ll just start writing about a topic and worry about the revenue later. My two cents. Thanks for the comment, Writer Dad!

I don’t know that I’d agree that you have to have the product in place before starting the blog, but I do believe that having a firmly fixed plan is an absolute essential.
