As I’ve mentioned a few times on this blog, you’ve got to have your priorities straight and nothing is more important to me than my family. So, I’ve decided to take this week off blogging and spend some extra time with my family and do a few things to gear up for the coming year. I may end up not being able to help myself and posting here or there but it certainly won’t be the every day occurrence you’ve all come to expect. If you find yourself needing a bit of a blogging fix, here’s a list of the activities I’ll be doing to get myself ready for the new year:

  • Set goals for myself to hit by the end of the year. This is a big picture view and includes both my private and professional life.
  • Determine which of my blogs will help me achieve those goals.
    • Decide whether to sell or shelve the blogs that won’t.
  • Set monthly (or even weekly) goals and tasks that will act as a road map to accomplishing the year end goals.
  • Set the priority for work on my blogs. (For me, this is based on which makes the most money, and which have the most potential.
    • This will determine which blogs will receive the most work and attention and when.
  • Brainstorm for each blog.
    • Monetization methods/Income sources
    • Linkbait posts or articles
    • Changes or repairs required
    • New regular features to introduce

Basically I want to have a firm grasp on where I’m headed in the new year. I’ll be about half way through this experiment which is a bit of a double edged sword. While it means time has flown by, it also means that as much work as I’ve done so far, I’ve got at least that much more to do!

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know what to expect this week. Have a Merry Christmas and I’ll see you in the New Year! As always, feel free to share what (if any) steps you’re taking to prepare yourself or your blogs for the coming year in the comments below.
